Braided line Empty Braided line

Post  Bazz Wed Dec 10, 2008 9:56 pm

Bought some extra weights, a 9' Esox Spinning rod & some 30lb Fox Predator braid tonight. Cutting braid is 'interesting' Rolling Eyes I carry a pair of nail clippers & find it cuts the 16lb Mono fine, not so the Braid. It seems really tough...is this usual? My best scissors cut it, not easily though. Bought this for hopefully spinning/plug fishing one day.

its only 30lb bite through it
Razz

but seriously dont for a cheaper option pop to the poundland/poundworld they have some of those big black scissors that will cut through braid ok they are not small and =nice but they work and they cost ......

if that doesnt work for you the old shear type scissors that we used to have in along with cantilever tackle boxes and shakespere blue boxes work ok provided you keep enough tension on the braid

my 1st and second choice for cutting braid has to be tiemco deer hair scissors or the fox trace blades

Hi Bazz braid is funny to cut , I use cheapo scissors from work, the best way of cutting is to try and keep tension on braid as you cut, there is a downside though be careful,

My swiss army knife has a small pair of scissors which will cut through braid. You must keep the braid taut across the blade.

Get yerself on the Gerrys of morecambe web site, there are braid scissors on for £2.99 absolutely brilliant, Or you can buy the fancy fox, korda ones for about a fiver, they will last you ages will cut no problem no need for glue or messing about and your braid wont fray. Put it in perspective and stop being tight. they cost the same as A PINT OF LAGER.

Ha Ha just a bit of Banter boys, They were selling off Fox lures at half price in the shop too, i believe Fox are bringing out a different range this coming year, just Plugs though, i take it the Jerk bait craze has started to die off a little.
