Managed to catch the right type of fish today Adie, Not a monster but my first fish using my new Delkims. 14lb 2oz.

Nice pike fella. More than ive had in the past 4 sessions.

It will pick up there Matt , ive already had 2 over 22lb there since Nov 2011. I,ve never blanked 5 in a row before , so its a bit of a shock. If it was up to 10 like you, i'd have slashed my wrists by now.

Well I had a superb day,left the house with my away day kit(holdall stalker bag and chair) got chaufered to my peg on the avon,had a huge doorstop bacon butty cooked for me, kelly kettle on the go all day for ample supplies of coffee(laced with whiskey)4 great mates for company then chaufered home....
The iceing on the cake was a double whammy...a fish of about 8 and no one came for the money,a bigger fish/more fish would have been nice but it don"t get mich better than that.

i managed a 5lb jack on tues from local canal on dougs famous double live rig that over 20 pike now in 7 weeks

It's hard this year so far, drove for and hour and half to the Wye and blanked. Nex week drove for an hour and 40 mins to the Royalty and blanked. Next week drove for 10 minutes to the Avon 14lb and a 9. next week did a long drive again and a 17 and an 8. The main problem is one of the waters really only respondes to live baits and they're impossible to catch at the mo. All being well, I'll be out Monday. Don't know how this weather is going to affect it though!

It certainly is a bit hit and miss at the moment. At least youve had a couple matey.
