Finicky Pike Empty Finicky Pike

Hi all, I fished on Tuesday and blanked. Throughout the day I had several pick ups and drop backs but each time the bait was only moved a few inches and then dropped. I think I tried just about everything I could to get a run but to no avail. The Pike were active chasing Roach so was wondering if they could've just been completely switched off to 'deadbait' although no success with lures either. Any idea's? Rolling Eyes Exclamation

Ive had this happen.......................the cure.........................use one treble only cause they gently feel for a hook in the flank of a bait and grab it by the head. Thats what i found, and this does cure the problem.

might be worth trying a single hook rig like a kebab or a spray hooked through the eye

dont think they are pike pal think a pike would move it a bit more than that had a session like that last year but the pike turned out to be verysmall pike but they moved the baits a foot or so had to scale right down to catch one.......could be line bites of other course fish ie roach , perch if useing some kind of ground bait

Cheers lads, Eels sems to be favourite as there is a large head of them at the lake in question. If it happens again I'll definitely try the one treble idea. Thanks for your feedback, much appreciated. cheers cheers cheers

Not sure about the 'new' bit Smile . Venue claims Eels to 10lb and been several caught recently to nearly 6lb, so pretty sure the Eelers (if thats what they're called) amongst us will know all about it Cool
