I had a list of this stuff I made a long time ago...I'm trying to locate it for you. Might take a few days or not at all but I'll try.

Re: Essential Terminal Tackle for Pike Fishing
Found it Andy. It's a little dated (2008) so the prices for some items will have changed but it still lists the basic requirements.
You won't save buying a handful of shop-bought traces, you need end tackle, bait, unhooking gear, weighing equipment, indication, alarms (probably), decent rods, decent reels and half-decent line.
NONE of the listed items are luxuries and NONE of the listed items are top-end. I've made everything as cheap as possible without it being cheap rubbish. Go cheaper and you're probably cutting corners or making do but one way or another, it's all stuff you'll probably buy anyway, so this is the most realistic list I can come up with, if you want to go fishing and have everything at hand.
If you go with someone, you can deduct many of the items. If you go without decent alarms or bank-sticks, you'll have to watch your rods ALL day and you might find yourself looking at far less waters to fish because they simply will not allow you on the water. The same goes for unhooking gear so take what you will from the list but that's what I'd be looking at before I left the house.
3 Wychwood rods - 120 quid (cheap as chips and I can vouch for the quality)
3 Okuma reels - 90 quid (Excellent reels with 5 year warranty)
1 spool of 18lb Daiwa Sensor- 6 quid (can't go wrong)
6 Dinsmore Powerdrive bank-sticks, or something similar which I would say ARE essential for good indication and ease of use - 50 quid
3 Alarms - 50 quid
3 Batteries - 6 quid (or the alarms don't work...duh!)
3 Pike Swingers - 39 quid
Unhooking gear - 10 quid
Mat - 10 quid (unless you're into grass)
Sling - 10 quid
Scales - 20 quid (forget these if you want to guess the weight)
Hooks - 5 quid for a bulk buy (Good reliable VMC hooks 18 quid)
Wire - 4 quid
Crimps - 3 quid
Swivels - 4 quid
Weights - 50p each - A dozen - 6 quid
3 Floats - 6 quid
Run-Rings - 2 quid
Paper-clips - 1 quid
Elastic Bands -1 quid
Bait - 10 quid (oh that's right we need that don't we?)
Do have fun now.....
