Mick Brown talks through his static ledgered deadbait approach. As well as catching a couple along the way, Mick also talks us through the tackle he uses and also how to tie up his chosen rigs.
The duke one of the best pike anglers you are likely to meet and a real nice bloke as well

Dam it, don't it make you want to rush out and go fishing.
As for the front swingers and baitrunners looks like a much better way of bite detection, I've always used rear drop offs and pointed my rods at the baits because I thought that was the best method, going on what I have read in the past,
The times ive had one drop off and struck in to nothing, and wondered if it was a take or just a line bite or the line just came out of the drop off hmmmmm

When ledgering I always use front swingers. Also I always use bait runners and front buzzers even when float fishing. I dnt think the minimal resistance puts the fish off at all. Sometimes I think people are too over obsessed with the zero rsistance set ups. I mean pull a float under the water thats resistance.
