Paul young on Discovery shed
Highland pike hunt at Loch Alvie.
Watching it now and cannot believe what I just saw. Paul Young and another bloke were sitting on a small pier thing chatting and drinking a cuppa when a bite alarm went off. So they put their cups of tea down, ran through a small patch of woods to the rods then waited to strike. they landed the pike ok, but the thing that amazed me was the fact they were both about 20 meters away from the rods .
I am not sure if its just me being fussy but I am suprised they didnt end up with a deep hooked pike

Watched this programe this morning, They were a hell of a way from the rods, Well more than 20yards, The pike was deep hooked, But the saving grace was the hooks were semi barbed, And you could see they were holding the throught passage closed, They came out easy enough with the pliers, But it would have starved to death had it snapped the trace off, Very amaturish for top fishermen ?
Re: Paul young on Discovery shed
he's a trout man really so i wouldn't be suprised if they clonked it on the heed after the cameras stopped rolling...did you see it get returned?

funny how things change eh stubbo. pike were classed as vermin, had to be killed.
then left on the bank to rot.
