rod and reel combo

new to this i would like to start jerkbait fishing, but dont know what rod and reel setup , some one gave me a rod 1 and half to 3 and a half oz , with trigger grip what multiplier reel would suit also have a spinning rod 15 to 40 g what fixed spool would be ideal, what setup do you boys use for bank and boat, any advice to get me going would be great, thanks

I'll be honest mate, I've had a few shandies this evening so I'm not exactly in the right frame of mind for giving advice on lure tackle right this minute...lol...I am however, into lure fishing big time with bait-casting setups myself, so tomorrow, when I've got a bit more sense about me, I'll address your post thoroughly OK mate.
