Deadbait Pop Up Floats - Rig Set Up Empty Deadbait Pop Up Floats - Rig Set Up

Hi

When using a deadbait pop up float what kind of wire do you use for attaching the float onto the trace?

Would you use rigging wire or is it best to stick to trace wire?

I intend to make up some traces so that the float is all are pre rigged but not sure what is the best wire to use.

Cheers

not 100% what you mean... by popup / dead bait floati rig is this..

ledger float setup..

snap tackle / bead / lead / bead / pencil float / bead / stop knot

to pop the bait up, i use balsa wood, but you can use poly balls or foam...

Here is an example of the rig in question.

Easy enough to rig up but what kind of wire though: trace or rigging?

never seen those, nice one mate.....

personally dont see the point when poly balls and balsa wood does the same on a ledger float setup.....

but im sure someone could enlighten me Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

wire wise, i would say rigging??? wouldnt trace me alot thicker?

hence the wording "rigging" and "trace"

very easy to use, and paying less than you would with the fox ones.
as for wire, just use some tracewire, no need for riggin wire,

I'd just use some trace wire myself, although I'd not buy one in the first place. I don't see the point in buying something like that when, like others have said, foam balls and balsa wood are available, and probably much cheaper.

i've had good results on hard waters using popped up baits, and always use a hi viz polly ball, usualy bright red/orange, connected with trace wire , cheep and very effective
