Do any of you have, or even still use Mitchell 300 reels ?? Ive got 3 of these old reels which i havnt used for years since the Shimano's came along. Great reels at the time.................oh how times change !
Ive also got a Mitchell "Match" which i still use for silverfish. Great reel, easy to cast with. Superb.

if they didnt wind the wwrong way around id still use them over most shimanos
mind you most of my shims are older models from the 80's and 90's
if your only fishing little snag free waters get using them
i always wanted the pro model but ended up with the second hand 60's version (hand me down from my dad). a mate still uses them with north western sealy 1.75 rods
last time we talked about carp he had just had his fourth 40 on em.
Re: blast from the past

ill sort some of mine out, they are a little more contempary though in the main, i got rid of a lot of the old stuff a while ago, barring the intrepids which are still in my parents shed
of the top of my head ive 80's silstar, shimanos like the ssg's and early aerlex and biomasters (when they were rear drag and small respectivley)
