Cameras for Anglers
Assuming that I do catch something in the future (!!!), any suggestions on the best sensibly priced digital cameras. Presumably I need something with a self timer? Any suggestions gratefully received.

Depends what you want to use the pics for Noz. Cameras on phones are gettin better but they are poor compared to a proper canmera so you are right to go for a decent one. Thing is there are lots of cameras for different purposes and prices. How much do you want to spend mate? By sensibly priced I guess you mean less than 100 pound. Have a look on www.amazon.co.uk and use the filters to find something that interests you. Read the reviews and then try to find reviews of the same product on other sites. I prefer to go with canon, olympus or pentax as established quality camera makers but i bet the others are good too.

this sounds right to me... i have a 5mpx vivitar compact which takes photo's good enough for here, also a nikon d3 which cost a fortune, the compact is the sensible choice

I got myself one of those in the sale also, Samsung s1065, great little camera, the price has gone up a bit now that the sale is over. Takes brill pics but get some high capacity rechargeables for it, then it runs for ever, almost. I found standard batteries don't last very long in it at all. That's the only bad thing I found with it but works great with the rechargeables, I also picked up a 2Gb Fuji film memory card for a fiver from asda!

had a play with it and it does have a selftimer. it has 3 settings...10s..2s...and then it got a photo after 10s and another 2s later. used the camera today and was very happy with it.
