New braid on reel
Just bought 50lb new fireline crystal braid and was wondering what would be the best strength of mono too stick on my reel and attach this too??

I didn't think it mattered Frazz,I have a few turns of 8lb on my spools, only because it was the first I picked up.But maybe someone else has other ideas.

Re: New braid on reel
so long as the braid has something to 'bite' onto to avoid slippage of the braid, it really don't matter.
15mm think with mono is all you need a few wraps with sparkys tape make it all neat.

Can I assume that you just want backing? Its just that you mention "attach it to" and I wondered if you were planning to join it.

Re: New braid on reel
it shouldnt matter in the slightest mate, i normally use old 10-15lb to back my reels up before i put braid on, but thats only because its my standard mainline for pike/carp so i have plenty of it lying around.
