Great expectations but?

Arrived at lodge at the lakes,spoke to guy who we renting lodge off, informed me last week he had 26lb pike,out off lake where im stopping this weekend with Stubbo,he said it rarely get fished for pike and record in this lake is 34lb,so quite excited about weekend, Stubbo just Arrived with boat,so looking forward to 2moro, but just been speaking to guy and he informed me he caught a 56lb pike 3 weeks ago in a scottish lake 3 weeks ago, didn't have the heart to tell him he was talking you know what, but Stubbo said we have been well and truely shafted, oh well,unless they have been a beast caught in scotland in dont know about!, andy mcfarland have you heard of this British record

I only went for the day and wanted to keep it quite about the record

on my post above if you go over the word record dose a link to an advert come up because if it dose i did not do that but it is happening on a lot of sites and is really doing my head in ?

By the way, why didn't you challenge him about it? I'd have asked for photographs, verification and the rest. If he couldn't produce it, I'd have ended the conversation right there and then. I just can't be bothered allowing these folk the air to breathe.

exactley what we thought as soon as he said that we were up against it he was probably bullshiting about the venue we fished today as we never had a sniff and we really gave it our all we deserved a fish today even a jack would have been welcome nothing like a blank session to bring you back down to earth. hay ho the thing is do we have another go at it tomorrow or move on to another venue where we should catch a few ..
