unhooking guides

After much searching and watching of videos on the internet I thought a post here was a good next step. Having caught a pike at the weekend and successfully unhooking using the gill cover technique i had watched,I couldn't hhelp but worry maybe I was doing something wrong or maybe it was more lack of confidence of handling the fish. Is there anywhere around Leicestershire ( maybe a club day) where I could witness exexperienced anglers catching and handling the fish? As I stated the unhooking went well I'd just like to get as much experience for the sake of the fishes welfare as possible . Cheers in advance .

Brilliant cheers. Just feel like I could do with a bit more confidence as no videos and guides really prepare you for the reality of the situation do they. Ill have a look on that website thanks .
