Re: spinner baits?
I have never used a spinner-bait in my lure fishing.
But i am very interested in them... not bad price either......£5-£10 also mixed weights 10g-150g And colours
I might get one when i see one...who know I could beat a PB on the first ever one i buy.

Re: spinner baits?
they are worth a go mate, i found that white/black,white/red and yellow/black worked best on my waters. don't go mad just get 4/5 to start with ,remember think of waters and fishMrMakk wrote:I have never used a spinner-bait in my lure fishing.

ooh they do some lovely UL lures on there for a pittance
bt if you want pike sized spinnerbaits then i only use one type (and yes any of you out there who have read stuff by me in the past will know i hate the coathangery things, but these are a world apart from others ive owned) and that is the MM spinnerbait
http://www.mmbaits.com/
available in the uk from chicos lures
Re: spinner baits?
I have updated my lure box by adding some new lures and a new box for em..
The two spinnerbaits which I have won, have came today.. ....
I think that is quick to say they are from overseas they are just under my casting weight..
whilst my other one (which I brought with the new box) is on my lowest casting weight.
I'm just Itching to give me new lures a cast

Re: spinner baits?
The spinnerbait is one of my favourite pikelures, but they have to be specific model for this fish, with bass model there are lots of problems when hooking a pike over 6 pounds. I usually use them during summer when the weeds are growing everywhere. The models for bass are an excelent lure also for perch, at least in the Baltic.
For me the spinnerbait is one of the lures that they always come with me, no matter where I go fishing. The colors white, wite-chartreuse, black, and walleye are my favourites.

Re: spinner baits?
I have great fun with these lures myself catching Jacks and Perch, But i allways thought these were called buzz baits ?, But they are top fun on a light set-up
Re: spinner baits?
Buzz-baits are much the same, except they have a massive propeller (instead of a spoon blade) on them that gives them lift and creates a choppy wake (hence the term buzz-bait....cos they 'buzz' along) behind the lure with the typical spinnerbait skirting hanging just below. Nearly but not quite the same thing.
I'd imagine if you went to some US sites, like Cabelas, you could probably buy interchangeable spinner-buzz-baits. I don't see that they would be difficult to make.

Re: spinner baits?
Thanks for clearing that up for us Andy, Its always good to know the difference, And i think i will have a go at making a couple of these spinners and try one with a single blade but a little larger
Re: spinner baits?
spinners can be great fun id never go fishing without a few spinners and spoons in the box, when its hard going they can change the day.
