I can see it happening too. Definitely going for the glow in the dark or flashing option. I might try one on my next runs water.

just read the act, it says you can't use a light for the purpose of taking or killing freshwater fish. does that include catch and return, or does it mean taking as in removing from the water?

I notice a bit later in the act, it says you cannot use electronic drives to take or kill fish too, so I guess it's doubly banned, but I suppose that also applies to bite alarms, led floats etc, all used to catch fish. There's no mention it is solely applicable to terminal tackle or bait. I've just read the Scottish 2003 update and it's very clear you cannot use a light as a lure, but again says you can't use electronics. I think ours needs an update. A lot has changed since 75!

taking means removing,, it does not mean catching to release. taking means catching to take yourself and removing means catching to remove.

I can see you all know sending your electronic fish out in you electric boats all we need now is a bionic landing net that weighs the fish and takes a photo of your fish tell you what lets all stay in our bivvys and let the android fishing partner cast out your baits.........sorry guys got a bit carried away there............come on guys give the fish a chance

alarms etc are an aid not used directly to take the fish, the current one has been used in court where anglers were prosecuted for not being in control of the rod (asleep) if an electronic alarm had been in use to wake them they would have been deemed to be in control
