NOW IS THE TIME!!!!!
hi everyone, i know we've had a harsh few months with many of us struggling to catch but this weekend is shaping up to be the major feeding trigger we have been waiting for!!!
the met office is forecasting warmer weather moving in (8 or 9 degrees daytime and 3-5 degrees on a night) which means the water temperature will start to rise and the pike should finally start moving and feeding in preparation for when they spawn!!!
i look forward to seeing how we do over the next few weeks.
me, tootall and my lil bro in law adam are out on a local water tomorrow so we'll let you know how we do.

Well Rob. We visited your local "Lake" today mate, and had one run which i lost. It was from where the tree fell into the lake about 2 weeks ago. GUTTED

Think in weeks rather than days. It takes more than a few days of better weather for the water temp. to change. I'm not suggesting for a second you're in the same league as this but I've heard anglers saying,
"It'll be better in the afternoon when the water warms up a bit", like a few hours of sunshine will make the slightest bit of difference.
People die of hypothermia falling into water in Summer. That gives you some idea of how long it takes for a water to warm up to any degree and it certainly won't happen in the space of a few days in February. It was nearly 11 degrees yesterday at it warmest and the water we went to was FROZEN.
Water doesn't retain heat very well.

Well I'm hoping this thaw keeps up too as I want to give that water another crack, without the aid of the farmer and his tractor.

Re: NOW IS THE TIME!!!!!
Looks like we are in for a few more days of settled weather so i'm already thinking of my next trip out. Unfortunately the suspension on my old 4x4 gave up this morning and i'm looking at a £500 bill and my car being off road for a while so i'll probably be walking to a local venue for my next trip . 1 rod and a bag of wobbling bait/lures i reckon as it's a fair old trek.
