Newbie from greenock

Hi guys, my name is Davy, I have done a bit of sea angling and fly fishing.
I have decided to have a go at catching some pike.
I have a sonic black baitrunner reel and I have a hto rockfish revolution rod casting 7 to 28 g lures.

Can I ask a really silly question, can I use mackerel or herring ad bait for pike?

Welcome to the site. I'm sorry to say that you have joined at a bad time as the pike season has finished now and        .
most people have moved on to other things. Mackerel and herring are some of the best pike bait around tho - most pike anglers wouldn't leave the house without some Mackerel and in their bait bags!!
