Todays AT - 45lb 8oz Pike
Front page - what a capture - A 45lb 8oz beauty from the Norfolk Broads.
Being hailed as the most important capture of a fish since chris yates' record redmire carp.
I love the fact it came from a river rather than a large trout water like chew
That bloke must be over the moon.

norfolk pike
have you anymore details about this pike? as it is the first i have heard about it.
if it realy is a 45-8 fish then that is fantastic, and i agree about it not coming from a trout water.in my view a true record fish.
just hope the venue where it was caught from does not get invaded by the circus.

ps had a river pike of seventeen and a half at the weekend, one of the hardest fighting pike i have ever caught, that fish made my season.

All the details are there in the AT mate - don't really want to advertise where it came from on here, but if you get a copy of it there's quite a bit of detail about exactly where it was caught and what methods were used etc

broads pike
oh dear, i feel sorry for the norfolk broads pike, interview in angling times states that the big pike could be a british record in a weeks time ,got a funny feeling there about to be hammered by every numpty for miles ,without a clue on pike fishing ,ie, loads of pike swimming around with traces, or dead,

Yes I'm mostly aware of what goes on in P&P, although you'd have to spend all day in there to keep up.
Call me a cynic but I don't think 'end of season' is going to keep the circus away from trying to catch it again. There are those who dare at any cost.

Re: Todays AT - 45lb 8oz Pike
wow.... what a fish!!! i'll see if i can get hold of a copy of at thursday when i get paid
as for all this talk about the circus heading down there i quite agree...... it wouldnt have mattered when it was publicised the end result will probably be the same, every numpty and his dog going down there to try and catch it .
thats why if i catch a fish worth publicising all they get from me is "undisclosed venue", and i always make sure the photos dont give too much away in the background.

Inside the AT there are other pics which give a bit more away, but still that is a great front cover pic.

thats a cracker of a pike. what do you think of its survival rate now. there are some fishermen who would bang it over the head, so thay can show their mates...

Makes my 13lber a tiddler by comparison.
I feel for the old girl. Every numpty who thinks that they are a pike angler will be after her now. Hope she eludes them and never gets caught again until the whole thing dies down.
Let her live in peace.
