Scottish piking

Hi guys n girls... Has anybody any information on fishing loch ken? Where to buy permits? Can I bivy up etc... This will be a first trip my son and I piking.. So any tips etc will be gratefuly appreciated... Maybe even see one of yous on the banking some day..

I wish I could help but I have not fished Loch Ken for years and most of that was by boat.
There is a caravan park that you can camp and fish from on the east shore and I have seen a lot of pike fishermen bivvying up on the west shore
down from New Galloway and I think its free to fish.
One thing I would say is that there are over a million crayfish in the Loch so try and get your baits off the bottom.
