blue and green algea bloom
been fishing my local canal once a week for 4 weeks now and not had a take or a catch
and ive just been told that there is blue and green algea bloom on the canal where i fish.
does the bloom kill the fish? is that why im not catching???

its the same thing that knackred loch leven. as far as i know you cant eat the fish..

blue green algae reduces oxygen in the water, this could make the fishing harder.

yes it does kill fish depending on what strain it is. ive seen it on my local loch twice in the last 5 years first time it didnt kill many fish but last summer it wiped out hudreds of silvers// i questioned the rangers on this and they said it as due to the very hot weather we had causing the boom,

very hot wether and no wind for a few days then it takes hold
