Is it me? Or is everyone struggling around here?

Right i have been out now for 3 weekends on the trot and i am having not a very good success rate. Is this due to the current conditions or just the venues that i am choosing? I have tried drains, canals, rivers and today been on some local lakes for which i am only ever pulling out the occassional JACK. Finding things hard at the momment is everyone the same or am i just loosing faith?

Hi Otter

You say that you have tried drains, canals, rivers and lakes in the last 3 weekends. This could be the cause of your problem my friend. Select a water that you believe/know contains some pike and fish it, learn about it, give it a chance. I have had times when I have moved about too much and caught less or not at all. The rewards will come if get to know one or two waters.

This is the thing i have fished these waters for many years (course fishing) and know that they are/were heavily stocked with old Esox. Having again started to go predator hunting i find that they are much more elusive to the times that i remember. But yes you do have a good valid point
