Multi-catches
Hi guys,
I've noticed a few members getting multi-catches the last few days with the improved weather and was wondering how?
Have you been successful by fishing one peg all day, or is it a case of roving swim to swim?
I've had a few mulit-catches but never from the same peg.

bring on spawning time mate, and if your lucky enough to be on them you can end up with the plesent/not so plesent saga of running out of bait.
it does happen from time to time, and when it does just go with the flowwwwww

Was out today for 4 hours and had 2 runs on the same swim. Managed to land both 6.5lb and 2.5lb

Re: Multi-catches
tried experimenting with 2 anglers.(over several seasons)
one of us roved the sat tight.
results were equal ,
some days it pays to move others you can catch in same swim ,
the choice is how you like to fish on a perticular day, time or venue it varies.

Re: Multi-catches
Now heres a thought?
It's sometimes know that Pike will feed at a particular time of the day.
So your in a swim and you've caught nothing for 2 hours. Do you.....
A. Move swims or
B. Wait for them to come on the feed?
Just thought I'd add that to the debate.
For me if I don't know the area it might depend on the weather.
If its slinging it down buckets I'd probably stay under my umbrella but if its a nice dry day get up and move and maybe come back to that swim later on.

Re: Multi-catches
ive found that the pike in the canal and this is just one spot near home!
i fish regular thay come on the feed at about 2oclock
the river is very differant down hear its hard to no when there gunna feed
seen them come out at all differant times but the bigger ones useually at night
when ya find them grouped up ya can catch quite a few in small space ov time
even a recast into the same spot can result in a pike on the bank!
had quite a few on the drop!

as its already been said mate it depends on the type of venue.........
on large lakes i may spend a full morning in one swim then if no action occurs i will move to a completely different area, one occasion as an example was the day i caught the pike in my av pic..... fished one end of the lake all morning, not even a run with 4 rods out between me and my bro in law. about 12:30 we moved to another swim......
i had a 12lber at 2:30 pm followed by the 23lb 3oz at 3:15 pm. my bro in law still finished up not even getting a run but he enjoyed watching me get mine lol.
on rivers and drains i never spend more than 1 1/2 hrs in one swim if nothing occurs, but if i find the pike then i'll stay put for another hour or so to see if they are grouped up as they sometimes are.

Not wrong there Stubbo. Im now trying to teach him unhooking and returning fish safely. He loves fishing along with playing rugby. A lot to be said for keeping them off the streets.

Re: Multi-catches
I tend to set up & sit in the same swim for most of my visits, usually late morning until dusk.. After seeing & hearing John Watson, who fishes the Norfolk Broads and never stays in a swim more than 1/2hr, boat or bank, I thought I would try it on a large pit I fish.
It didn't work too well, mainly because half the swims are currently flooded and other anglers were plentiful, mainly Carp men bivvied up. Two other Pikers caught an 8 & an 11, another caught a 2lb Jack on Lure & tried Livebaiting with it! It failed and the Jack soon died.. maybe say 2-3hrs in a swim and move on.......humn, interesting topic

Did 9 hours today and not so much as a ripple . Not to worry, back out again in the morning with my lad, flask or two of tea, thermals etc.
