Pike feeding time
I'm still a newbie at this pike fishing lark but am quickly getting the hang of it. At the venue iv been fishing this year I have always seemed to hook a fish between 8.45 and 9.15. This has happened the last 5 times iv gone. Has anyone else found this? It's an unusual time too, not low light or anything.
And this is in 3 different swims!

Yeah it is a popular peg. I just find it amazing that it's produced a take at that time the last 5 times. I even had a little wager on it this time lol.

Re: Pike feeding time
yes generally every water has its 'time'. I have found on my local drain that they feed best between 10am and 1pm then 4pm till 7pm. seems to be 3hr spells like this all year round - however the river that runs 50 yds behind it only seems to fish well at first light and depending on time of year that can be anywhere between 4am and 8am! Seems to make no sense lol.
Its good to try and understand these patterns though as i can now go to some waters knowing that i am hitting them at prime time and my confidence is up etc

Every time I've had a take on that particular venue, it has always been around 11am.

Iv not had anything after 11. Although I did get a take on the alarms at 10.30. Never had a take like it. It screamed off and managed to deep hook itself.

The late Barrie Rickards along with Ray Webb wrote the book Fishing For Big Pike, they write extensively about feeding times, It's worth a read if you can can get hold of a copy
