River Piking advice

River Piking advice Empty River Piking advice

I was thinking of trying the Trent but have never fished for pike on a river before, I normally just ledger so can I use a normal ledger rig with a 1 to 2 ounce lead, any tips or advise would be much appreciated

depend which section you fish as ive fished a1 pits section and sometimes you need 6 oz to hold bottom if the water pushing threw.you could try a popped up bait on 1 rod and a bottom bait on other..also dont forget to put a float on,might be a pain casting in every 15 mins but you will cover more water Very Happy

Cheers, I decided to have a go at lure fishing there instead, not really done much of that so i bought a lure rod went up the river and around a mariner, it was the first time pike fishing in 5 years I was sure I was gonna catch something but i blanked, probably doing something wrong lol
