Hi guys i just found a Ron Thompson Evo Concept Carp Rod 2.5lb for £10 brand new just wondering if anyone knows what the quality is like as i recently had an accident with my Wychwood Agitator whilst moving house and due to the move can't really afford to splurge big bucks on a new 1 just yet.

Buy it for £10 and use it until youve saved up for a new agitator, doesnt really matter about the quality does it at that price. Its a stop gap until you get a better rod thats all. You can always use it as a second rod once you get your agitator.

+1

and it probably will be good enough, although cheap rods tend to have long handles, but that makes casting big weights a little easier Wink

I had a 12' match rod a few years ago, really good rod and as others say, very robust. I changed it for a drennan series 7 only because I was doing more stick float fishing and wanted as lighter rod as possible. Go for it, at least it's something we've heard of rather than some obscure thing off ebay.
Good luck

I ended up getting the rod seems a quite solid rod especially for the price. A bloke in the shop said hes got a couple of them and he's had them for years without any major probs.
