a good days fishing

what would people call a good days pike fishing?? dead bait, live bait or lure fishing?? i have had 6 pike all over 6 lbs but under 10 lbs in a day on a lure but only ever had 4 in a day on dead bait and 2 on live bait.

just wondering how well others do.

We once had 26 pike in a weekend, not one over 8lb. all on dead bait

What do I call a good days fishing..
Just being out fishing.
Most fish I've caught been on lures.. 14 in one session..
This I think, cos you cover more ground..
But I like to dead-bait just has much. 7 the most on deads.

ah really most iv had dead baiting is a 17 n half n 3 6lbs lol i thought that was a good days pike fishing lol

its ok if your on a maggot you can catch hundreds of different species lol

but pike are generally the only thing that will take a dead bait, ok you get the odd other species that might take it lol

i went saturday and blanked which annoyed me enough to go sunday and had 2 9 lbs il try and find it now

Drew, remember this is not all about the number of fish you catch.. Even when it's just the 1 fish, I've had plenty of those days,,

I don"t relish a blank(doubt anyone does) but I always look on a few fish as the iceing on the cake.
My most memorable catch was while proving a point about not needing to use expensive tackle,had ten pike in 6 hrs all to small roach livies,first 6 were all doubles.

The most memorable catch i enjoyed was with two other people. We had 21 pike, 16 over 15lb, and the biggest at 19 1/2 lb all in one day !!!

All off of a boat on the Broads a few years back. We used deads and livvies. It was just one of those mental days where everything was right !!

Never had another day like that one.

bloody hell doug id love to have a day like that bet you all was well chuffed.

i had 6 fish biggest 17 lbs in 35 minutes from a local weirpool about 20 years ago,never seen anything like it reckon the pike had ambushed a shoal of fish cos there was fish scattering everywhere and the 17lber took an 8ib pike i was bringing in across its back.next cast the big un then it all went dead.

Yep, we were Drew. Going up on the Broads again this Thursday ( 1st ) off of a boat with my "sparky" mate. Cant wait. Gonna try my double livvie rig again. Superb !

best day i had a while ago was 3 twentys in an feeding spell that lasted about half an hour its never happened since it was awsome never had a sniff all day then 3,30 pm they just kept coming

three twentys does sound good the only pike iv seen over twenty was a dead 1 me and my dad found floating in a canal with treble hooks and an eel section in its mouth lol

and i still havnt been to the broads yet doug i really want to though, me and lewis was on about entering a pike match in oxford in october i know im not going to win or anything just think it will be a good day but hopefully something good will happen to me like you lads have had in the past.

Rods and tackle all sorted for a very early start tomorrow. Gotta leave my house at 4.30am !! God, i,m gonna be tired tomorrow evening !

We had 2 fairly good days this week, but not great days! In Ireland when the fish are on, they are really on. Me and a mate in my boat had 28 takes and landed 15, the biggest was 15lb 80z. Today we had 11 Pike from 18 takes and the biggest was 18lb 4oz. Hopeing for better tomorrow
