Hi all. Newbie from Manchester.
Hi there,
I'm new on here, not new to fishing though. I used to match fish in my youth, did fairly well, getting to national finals with our youth squad being a highlight, but match fishing is a such a stress, and life's stressful enough. I've always done some plugging and spinning, mainly on the Bridgewater Canal and the Old River in Irlam, and after giving up on match fishing, i invested in a proper set-up, which got nicked about 6 years ago when my car went with my tackle in the boot. I never replaced it as family life and being self employed meant i had little spare time, and even less cash, until recently when i went and sat with my mate whilst he was carping, and was well and truly bitten by the bug again. I bought a load of carping kit, and went on a few sessions, but all the while something wasn't quite right. After much soul searching i realised i'd been after the wrong species (did i say carping kit, i meant deadbaiting set-up), and have thus bought myself some new plugging gear, and started to build my lure collection again (forgot how addictive this was).
As soon as it turns up, i'll be hitting the banks in my free afternoons and free weekends, and i look forward to reporting back to you with my catch reports (blank reports more like).
So again, hi to all, and i look forward to being part of your community.
Thanks
Pete
