i'd say it will take 4-5 days of temperatures around 5 degrees (day and night) before they really start feeding.

I'd almost go along with but that could just be a geographical thing Rob. I would say a week of stable water temp. around 6 degrees, so I'm not far off your observation. It's too close to be a coincidence, don't you think?

They could be feeding now but we'll not know until the temperature goes up.......because there's a ice top to all the stillwaters. Had a ride around today and didn't see anyone fishing on the river, everywhere else was frozen.

yup agreed... its the same nearly every year.
although the temperature can be a steady 2 or 3 degrees for a few days and they'll start to feed a bit more. i'm looking forward to next weekend as long as the met office forecast is right, it should be interesting
