Lure making question. Empty Lure making question.

I've just bought a few jerkbait blanks to paint up. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips, is there a particular type of paint that's favourable? I was thinking car spray paint over primer. Is this wrong? Also, I've heard you finish with epoxy. Is this just a case of mixing up some clear araldite and painting it on or is there a specific type. Cheers.

You can get away with using Araldite but it's going to be expensive in the long run. Better to use a two-pack coating like Envirotex or Flex-coat. Get yourself a rod turner as well, it'll keep the lure rotating while the two-pack sets so that it doesn't run.
