The one you saw on TV was probably when it was staged in Ireland, Sky covered that one. There were TV crews in France and in Estonia too but they were from local stations. Yes the competition is quite intense and it is hard work but I have to say it's given a whole new dimension to my fishing and I enjoy it immensely.

Re: Blog Update
who gets to pick the venues eric like the one with no decent sized fish in , surely venues with a decent head of good fish would be the first choice ..... some governing body in charge of the fishing programes probably......Eric Edwards wrote:The one you saw on TV was probably when it was staged in Ireland, Sky covered that one. Yes you're right. Each country has a governing body and they are all members of fipsed. When a country applies to stage the championships fipsed send a representative from the governing body of a neighbouring country to check out the venue. Trouble is, that representative might not be of the same discipline. For instance they might have sent a pole angler to check out Lake Viljandi. He would have to rely on local knowledge in sussing it iut and of course, they will always exaggerate.

As a matter of interest, and without naming venues (except by pm) is it obvious where any of thos fish on the blog came from?
