Pike care in Irish trout waters.

Please feel free to email these fools and tell them why your not coming to ireland pike fishing please lads.  You may never want to come but getting this stopped will help those that do travel, to have better fishing.  Pike need protecting.

Yep, I checked Mr Sloan on the Internet . Proper pike man.  . . . I was once in a similar situation 25 years ago . Having to sneak behind the netting men that were chucking the pike up the bank . I had to wait a couple of minutes behind them before sneaking up the bank , cradling the pike and getting them back into the lake.  I loved it when kenny Sloan took the big pike off him and revived it . But, it's a big battle against that ignorant lot you have on your hands mate .

I've signed the petition   Inland Fisheries Ireland and DCAL  should be ashamed of themselves

It's tragic that people just don't get that if they keep it up at one point it will just end and all the fish will be gone
Are there no rules prohibiting this so close to spawning

I have signed the petition. Unfortunately this practice as been going on for years in a mistaken belief that this will protect the trout stocks. If they had a policy of culling the coromorants there would be a bigger outcry!!

I know guys who would go and destroy the nets and probably the boats to stop this going on , cant believe this is still going on in Ireland,

surely any illegal act would mean a prosecution.. are these all trout waters

They are trout waters Stubbo, but not stocked ones like Chew etc. just waters where the trout are the preferred fish to live, Can you believe the ignorance of them. A balanced fishery is one left alone for nature to manage. Dont you worry about the nets lol, they get some attention alright. Just imagine the size of the operation when theres 4 miles of nets laid on my local lough Sheelin, and Corrib is 10 times as big!!!!!
