Thats is Odd.
I'm just on the reel fishing site and i came across a 'shimano Purist 12ft 2.75lb deadbait classic' and the price is at £40.85 and £5 for P&P so the total is £45. and I searched the rod on google and it came up at £100-£120 near about

whats is getting me is the price diffrence...
Has anyone came across anything similar of this when looking at tackle ?

the rod any good?
I am quiet tempted to do that
Re: Thats is Odd.
i cant see it being a bag of spanners, but there are a few touches on it that make me think its more of a carp crossover pike rod
line clip why a pike rod needs one of those is lost on me
hook keepers are another pointless addition to a rod all they do is stick the hooks closer to your hand when your moving
six rings means it should fold in half perfectly (most shims do)
2.75 a little light for my tastes but no doubt if your not fishing the glacials or monster rivers/lakes then its big enough
in all honesty having not seen it i cant see it being a bad rod for yourself or many pikers on the average normal water its more than adequate adn being a shimano will probably last years (unlike the reels nowadays)
i own a good few shimano rods and the only fault i can lay at them is the colouring/finish sometimes on a couple of models has been a bit iffy, and the eyes on my beastmaster jerk were really far too fragile
super ultegras were prone to sunburn/bleaching
and the original diaflash went white in the rain
out of a fair few ranges of the shimano rods thats all i can say bad about them i still use the areo speciman, the super ultegras, the beastmaster lure rod
final bit i am very heavy handed with gear and if its deemed unbreakable i will find a way to break it so all the above are from personal experience and i know other anglers had no problems with them, the diaflash though did suffer as a whole from the rain problem

2 of my rods are Shimano & were £50ea. Get one, it will compliment the Rogue..
Mine are Forcemaster 2 3/14TC & are fine. Carp rods with a very through action, don't worry, the Pike will not ignore your baits just because you are using a Carp rod, they can't read LOL!
