Had to pop jaws back into place several times, which is my main contention for debating the point and yes, that is the main reason why I'm not fond of the rig or the scissor hookups.

To simplify my original post - Mick Brown appears to have no issues with hooking pike in the scissors (it seems implicit as a good thing in his writings). I'm fairly definite he has many more hours/days/years of experience and expertise in pike fishing compared to your good self. Ergo he knows more than you on this subject. Fact.

Its down to the forum populous as to whether they should listen, heed or act on your opinion/advice or Mick Brown's far more extensive knowledge and experience.

P.S. Of course the hair rig wasn't invented by Brownie but he most definitely refined and popularised the kebab rig for pike fishing.

By that reasoning, any piker who has fished for a long time must be right? So please explain why there are numerous anglers, all of similar ilk, who have fished for just as long, if not longer, just as successfully who cannot even agree with each other on anything?

For instance, guys like Browny, Lumby, Dave Horton, Eric Edwards, Nev etc. cannot agree on very much and they all have lifetimes of experience.

Have a think and then tell me why Browny must be exclusively right on this matter.
