End of an amazing Piking season TON+ with pics
9th October 2013 RARING TO GO. This was my simple slider float setup on 2 of my waters only
Well, sunday the 30th March saw the end of a rather good piking season for me, based on numbers caught
over 100 fish from 5 different venues. Biggest being a PB DRAIN fish of 20lb 5oz
Come wind, rain, cold or a little bit of sun, i was out there and catching well. During the season i had only 2 blanks
this season saw me on a new venue, a trout lake. VERY VERY LUCKY to be the only person allowed to fish it
This lake produced over 70 fish from October 2013 to 30th March 2014, remarkably 80% were doubles, biggest just shy of that 20lb mark of 19lb 4oz below. We fish it no more than 10 times
im sure your all thinking, over 70 fish but how many RE-CAPTURES. We, again this is remarkable as only 3 fish where re-captures this being the biggest and the best. Named her PATCH [:T][:T]
18lb 3oz
18lb 13oz
she was also caught again at 17lb 2oz
i also landed my PB lure caught fish as well. A superb 18lb 5oz
it was a special venue, ranging from depths of 4ft through to 19ft, fully tree lined and just plain sexy as a piking water goes [8D]
here are a few more pictures
15lb 10oz
mouth of a 16lb 8oz
Spinner caught 4lb jack :)great fun on lite tackle
ALWAYS stay until last knockings as you never know what it will produce :)15lb 1oz
WAS a PB drain fish at 13lb 7oz
Margins NEVER EVER IGNORE THEM
THE REASON WHY to never ignore margins, this spot below 3ft of water, right in the corner, tight, out the way PRODUCE my magical 30lb 14oz back in 2013
14lb 5oz
HARD HARD DAY last knockings and i wasnt even going to put a 3rd rod out and this was our 4th move. STUNNING 17lb 2oz drain beauty
to finish off some of my catches during the season is this 16lber from another private lake
ROLL ON the 2014/2015 season, just hope the winter is an ACTUAL winter.
OOOO and something else i achieved in 2014, which is NOT fishing related but i hope you can appreciate the efforts
48hrs WORLD RECORD CRICKET NET, previous record was 26hrs, we smashed it and raised over £12'300 for BRAIN TUMOUR RESEARCH UK

Season to be happy with is that, some great fish and photos. One twenty is enough, many never get that and would kill for a season like you had so keep enjoying it.

Looks like lots of fun, very nice having exclusive access. I reckon you'd have caught even more if you'd stuck to lure fishing.
