Savage Lures
Following the earlier post on these lures im wondering how people have go on with them over the past few months, i have a dirty roach freestyler and a 19cm blue silver 4 play and so far only had 1 fish on each with plenty of follows too.
Last time i was out my 4 play body fell away from the head, luckily on the bank and not during a cast, the pin holding the first join dropped out right at my feet
Has anyone else had any problems like this ??

savage lures
Hi boys, i am new to the forum and have been using these great lures for the last eighteen months (4 play lure ). this lure comes in three different sizes and two styles 1, the 4 play and 2, the 4 play lip lure. After bying several of both i have discovered that the lip lure out fishes the lipless one by far, also out of the three sizes i would go for the 19cm one (especially in perch pattern) the low rider version isn't bad either. if you do have the lipless one i would suggest a very slow retreive because if you retreive it too quick the action is far to wide. And i fish the lip lure in two different ways, the first is using the lure as a jerk bait, giving gentle taps of the rod tip makes this lure swing from side to side ( i have had countless upper doubles doing this ) and secondly short sharp bursts, sink and draw style but a bit quicker also has its moments.
Dont really rate the freestyler too much but i have found that the retreive i use for this is upward jerks of the rod give it a nice walk the dog action. Please try these when the snow thaws and let me know how you get on Sie

Re: Savage Lures
I rate the Freestyler way above the Deviator as it requires a lot less effort to use and Ive caught more on the Freestyler.
If I could only take one lure with me it'd have to be the 25cm 4play in any of the silver patterns. Top bit of tackle they are lads.
Only one bit of advice would be to change the hooks. The standard ones are a bit big on the 25cm and go blunt much quicker than most.
