Re: Good luck everyone for the 2022 to 2023 season
Hi lads Sorry I haven't posted for a few days I've not been too good Plus having Christmas to sort out all on the internet for my gifts its cost me a small fortune
I'm not too bad at the moment considering what I have to put up with But there maybe light at the end of the tunnel I just don't know how long the tunnel is lol I spoke to a specialist just before Christmas and he suggests that they fuse 2 or 3 vertebra's together Can't say as I'm looking forward to it though But if its sorts it out then I'm all for it after the year I've just gone through
Anyway tomorrow I am having a day out with our local Rotherham & Sheffield PAC On a local canal that the club who own it have asked if we can get a group of us to try it out for them to get some idea what kind of numbers the Pike are So I will be sat at the closest peg to my car I think its about 20 yards with my mate Kell so he can help me out because there's no way I will be able to pull a twenty in as I am lol
Anyway I hope you are all having a brilliant Christmas and everyone of our members has a fantastic 2023
Cheers all

Glad you are feeling a little better. My mates wife had that operation a few years back and it when well.
I hope you catch a big girl.
I have just got back from Scotland unfortunately I was not fishing this time. I was in a dead zone no internet and no phone, you miss it when you haven't got it.
I got talking to the estate owner about fishing the river there he couldn't tell me anything about the pike fishing and the access is not good but
one place called the mirror pool looked good. The only problem is you have to stay in one of the cottages to fish there.

Lost my mojo at the moment. The weather getting me down. Rivers are full lakes are flooded, it's hard work. Not fished since
before Christmas it's hard to get motivated. But I am going to try this week.

I've been a couple of time but due to not being able to walk very far I can't get to places I would like to fish so had to make do with places that I know don't hold much but are easy to fish which after all is better than sitting at home thinking about being sat on the bank lol
I'm having another injection in my spine on Tuesday it's a epidural to try to pinpoint the right spot on my spine prior to operating on the spine to fuse 2 or 3 vertebraes Not looking forward to that but needs be and all that

Not been out fishing for a while but was out on the bank yesterday I caught two one about 8lb and the other
15lb. The small one had two big sores on its back, otter damaged I think. It was good to be out again.

Good to hear you have been out again psion I've not done much really
I had a day out with a mate 2 weeks back but blanked
I put it down to not being able to fish far from my car as its still a real big struggle
I had a day out on my own yesterday for the first time in over a year at a place on one of our local canals where I can park my car just feet from my rods which is good apart from the fact it gets really hammered with it being easy to fish from and as a result I yet again blanked
God I can't wait until they do something with my back so I can get some proper fishing in
Tight lines everyone or should I say psion lol

Re: Good luck everyone for the 2022 to 2023 season
I had a day out about 4 hours as much as I could stand the pain last week and managed just one jack about 4lb
And had a few hours today on a pond I've not been able to go on for the last 3 years as it was taken over and run as a syndicate with no day tickets but they have now started doing day tickets again
So I had a few hours today and had 3 out nothing big but still nice to get something out
Within 10 minutes of my first cast I had a run resulting in a small one of about 4lb
then about a hour after I had another run resulting in a 5lb one still not big but going the right way lol
About a hour later I had my third run this one felt a bit better but was soon in the net and weighed in at 11lb this is my first double of the season so far but I have to say my back was suffering after that one I don't think it would cope with a 20
I don't know how many more times I will get out before the season ends or I have my back sorted

Re: Good luck everyone for the 2022 to 2023 season
Out with 2 mates today for a few hours on a local ish canal
It was very quiet and hard work to tease a take out of any pike today plus I've never fished here before and my 2 mate have fished here a few time's lately and had a few nice pike out !
After about 4 hours of dodging boat traffic we all moved our baits closer to our bank as to stop pulling our rods in all the time
About a hour before we packed up I had a very tentative take which was only just twitching the line but I don't like waiting so pulled into it and we were in and after a spirited fight it was in my net and a lovely looking fish she was not a monster but lovely markings
After unhooking her and leaving her in the landing net in the water to recover for a while we weighed her and took a few photos seeing as it was the only pike of the day lol she weighed 11lb 9oz to be honest I thought she looked heavier as she was fat with spawn but I was happy with her

Very good glad to see you are getting in to some fish. I have not been out for a few weeks with one thing or the other and the
last time I blanked. I have just paid my subscription for my Scotland fishery and booked 4 days for the end of March.
Keep my fingers crossed for nice weather.

The river season is over now, I would of liked one last session but it didn't happen.
I have four days booked in Scotland at the end of March and that will be my last for this season. Will let you know how it get on.

Re: Good luck everyone for the 2022 to 2023 season
I have had a setback with my trip to Scotland. I have been on a waiting list for small surgical operation and I have received a
notice of a cancellation so am booked in for Monday. I am hoping to be ok still for next week but will have to see.

Re: Good luck everyone for the 2022 to 2023 season
Thats the end of another season. I got my trip to Scotland in but only manage to fish two days out of four mainly due to the weather.
I had 19 pike biggest 13lb.
For me it's been a funny season there have weeks when I have not fished at all which is not like me.
I think this was partly down to weather, it was flooding one week then freezing the next. Then there was knee, its getting harder to
carry all my fishing tackle over long distances. Something I am going to have to sort out for next season.
I do have a electric fishing trolley which is great but very good when its muddy.
I won't be fishing in April then catfish fishing in May and June with a little bit of Barbel fishing in July and August.
I hope to post some catfish pictures so catch you all later.
