Re: Newbies....come and say hello
Hello my name is Mick Robinson,
I work as sales manager for a well known mail order tackle company named Gerrys Of Morecambe. We specialise in sea fishingtackle mail order. We also have a hand in the carp mail order and just recently put an add in Pike and Predator magazine. I hav worked on and off for Gerry now for about 10 years. Im a coarse fishing match angler most of the time , but have become more interested in Piking over the last few months and will now dedicate my winters iin trying to catch these fantastic creatures. And too be honest im getting sick of trying to catch as many 2 - 5lb carp as possible in 5 hours from the same old chocolate coloured canalised commercials. I live in morecambe with my stunning fiancee who also has an interest in coming along for the odd piking session. As she has her own stables and numerous horses she is used to the great outdoors.
Theres nothing i like more than getting absolutely w*@kered on Stella Artois with the lads after ive played in the local saturday football league for Carnforth Rangers Reserves ( which i captain) im getting a bit old for this but at 31 still feel theres life in me yet. If im not drinking myself to oblivion with the boys, i do it at home with my good lady while watching the next premier league champions LIVERPOOL F.C who ive been bonkers about since being a very small boy.
Back to the fishing, i do recieve a lot of ideas on venues through customers in the shop and on the phone, but im the type of angler who has to put the time in to get rewards and after 5 blanks last year i finally had my first jack all 3lbs of it. Since then ive managed a P.B of 9lb 14oz. nearly a double but not quite. I do have a lot of knowledge of tackle ( as its my job to know) so if anyone wants information on anything ( not neccessraley advice ) i will help the best i can. If you did see me on the bank, All the gear no idea may spring to mind ha ha ha. i hope ive not blabbed on to much, when i catch my first double i might put my mug on my profile. All the best to everyone and thanks for the advice ive been given up to now.

Hi there mickyrob, nice to have somebody 'in the trade' on the forum.
Maybe you can let us know when the 'next best thing to hit fishing' is coming to or comes onto the market

hi,just started to pike fish,i went to the trent last week with a mate ,and had 3 between us,and got the bug,i really would like to keep it simple not much gear etc unlike my carp fishing, my mate nick carpy told me about this site,i live in dinnington near sheffield and have just been made redundant after 30 year at british steel,so plenty fishing time,or plenty of ironing cleaning cooking

Hello
Hi
I have just joined the forum, but i've been checking it out for a few days now and it looks like a great site.
Been a 'serious' pike fisherman for about 4 years now, but i still like to get out and fish for other species from time to time. I'm 32 now, but started fishing when i was 4 and it's the one hobby i have that has always been a constant in my life and i love it as much now as that first time i picked up a rod and reel at 4 years old
Been having the best season yet for the pike so far with no blanks yet , which for me is a miracle Fishing a venue at the mo which i have yet to get a 20 from, but with every trip i'm getting that little bit closer. (Best so far from this place is 17lb 5oz). Best ever pike is 26lb 3oz so i'm also still hunting out that elusive 30!
I'm also a relatively new member of PAC and am a great believer in what they stand for...any other members on here?
Anyway I look forward to chatting with you all.
Tight lines
PS - i'm from yorkshire, but travel all over the country to fish.

Hi to all, I have just joined the forum . I live in the West of Ireland near to the Large Western Loughs and the River Shannon. I moved here from England several years ago to explore the pike fishing here on the many large waters ,which are very different to the waters I fished in England as I mainly fished the Thurne System on The Broads for about 10 years before moving here
