I keep reading this thread with envy... Evil or Very Mad

In all seriousness though i reckon Sunday might be cock-on for a couple of nice doubles (if not better!) for a few of you.

I know the big girls in this area are starting to make an appearance - although the temps are up and down, i think they are getting to the point where they just need/have to eat purely for survival reasons.

My advice would be big baits - IMO pike at this time of year (no matter what size) will be looking for the easiest, biggest meal possible fore the least ammount of effort...

Good luck comrades!

PS excuse the ramblings, i've been down the pub this evening!

just a double would be nice for me by the end of the season too..... i've hardly been able to get out anywhere due to financial constraints this season..... think i've managed maybe 4 or 5 sessions since september and the best i've done is a 7lber!!! lost a double at the net but thats the closest i've got Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

Well not the best of days lol But this is what we are starting to expect when we have a fish-in lol! lol! lol!

Rob ( patchs mate ) had one about 10lb and i think he lost one !

I had 3 nice trout Very Happy one big enough for my dinner lol I put that one back as it was far to big !
But i had one of about 1lb that i put on And had a good run on it that i had on for a few seconds only for it to drop it Shocked Shocked Shocked that one was around 7-8lb
So out it went again Yes it was still alive lol and a while later i had another run and hit into this one and it felt like a big fish which put a right old bend in my rod for all of 15-20 seconds Shocked Shocked These pike at Cellar are very crafty fish i was gutted Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad 2 runs and 2 lost fish Sad
Kell who was fishing next to me also had 2 takes near the bank from a jack that just got hold of the tail of his bait then let go lol It just wasn't our day Shocked

One or two others had runs but not much came of them !!

Very finicky pike at Cellars But they are there and do get caught but not by us today lol
As for Patch & Rob who did a overnighter and said they would catch some livebait for us Very Happy Very Happy Well what can i say lol! lol! lol!
We had to catch our own lol! lol! lol!

Apart from that we had a great day And as usual the Cellars crew looked after us with sausage and bacon buttys and lashings of tea & coffee And all for a very good price that takes some beating Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Thanks to the Cellars crew Bas Sue & Mick from all of us Wink Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Adie

Good day all in all although a few fish would have been nice. Nice to put a name to a few faces and get to know you all a bit more.
Again very picky fish and a hard venue but again better than being in the house Smile

very pleased to meet you all, did'nt get much time to talk to you all, sue kept me chained to the sink doing dishes Very Happy . many thanks for comming, just sorry our little princesses did'nt want to play, but we have noticed they are wiseing up to the 2 trebles, even the smallest bit pressure or tension they drop the bloody bait, adie was unlucky Crying or Very sad
also poor george up the top end lost a monster pike, picked his bait up george ready for the battle it dropped it,
I know some of you had a few runs, but its being there Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes not, we really wanted someone today to break the lake record, we really needed a few new pics in the gallery and bragging rights for a new lake record so not only are you dissapointed so are we. Rolling Eyes again sorry you did'nt catch more. maybe next time, you are all welcome back anytime.
