the double hook rig is a feeder fishing set up in a match situation where you are generally limited to one rod at a time

sometimes i think the current vogue in fishing leads to much to narrow a veiw how too fish

i take none of you have used a pennel with worms

or the dropper on a feeder

fished a team of flies

all multi hook set ups that are viable propositions for fishing

I've never heard of anyone using 2 hook rigs in match fishing Shocked I don't think you would get away with it in a match around here Shocked

i agree with the lads on this one The only safe way to use 2 hooks is on 2 rods Very Happy
Apart fron snap tackles and of course sea fishing Very Happy

Very Happy Shocked I remember being in a local match, And there was a big debate at the end of the way-in, As the winner was using 2 hooks, But he went away as the winner because no one had written into the rules that you could only use one hook, The guy who won said his club water in Wigan allowed the use of 2 hooks in a match, So he thought this applied for any match in any area, Shocked Very Happy

Tricky question, Do you know the answer ? - Page 2 Empty 2 hooks set up

Post  essox_lucius1 Sun Mar 28, 2010 9:21 am

of course ive heard of the 2 hook rigsin match fishing i cant see why they cant be used for alot of shoaling fish i have used a 2 hook rig for roach myself but as pike are loan predators i just think using multi hook setups could lead to lots of pike trailing hooks around and lots of anglers with flying trebles in the hand cyclops

not always the case that pike move around on there own having caught 4 or 5 fish from one spot one after the other some big fish mixed in with the small ones sometimes there might be a small group of pike sticking together which i witnesed on a local quarry lake Suspect

Very Happy I think you will find that if you are dead baiting, And the pike are hungry, You will find them queing up for the next bait to drop in, This is why at times, Like me, You can catch 8 Pike in the day, Of all diferent sizes, Very Happy
