This is not a easy one lol as one bait may work better on one place and not work at all on another lol

But i think the one i have had most success on would be roach santa

depends on the venue if it contains zander and pike then it would be the humble gudgeon (live or dead) if it was a pike only venue then it would be a sandeel

well im usually a sardine mackeral man through and through.

however

yesterday i actually landed a pike (well two sort of the same one twice with broken gill rakers) nothing unusuall there you may say, well a little background info on this lake i have averaged roughly two runs per visit and over 50 odd visits ive managed to loose every fish ive hooked now im happy enough with my rigs and gear as im catching elsewhere and landing em

bait wise the fish took a bait ive never had much faith in and took the same bait (literally) twice the bait smelt think ill have a few with me more often now

my favorite is smelt it not only stinks but is quite a visual bait aswell. plus i find it a very easy bait to pop up by using a medium sized bait popper run through the bait on a quick link trace and then just push the bait popper inside the baits mouth.i've found that a bait of around 5 - 6" once its accepted a bit of water from puncturing the bait it will act like a critically balanced bait with just the head rising a bit. if you do need additional weight it will only be minimal.

For me it has to be Mackerel Shocked

.....only cos that's what I've had most luck with.

This has to be the same consideration as the "1 lure for life" question............no?

Very Happy
