whats the correct reel for lures??
can anyone tell me if my bait running rods are ok to use with my new 7ft rod im going to use for lureing?? My pal said id need to get a different reel aswell.

The whole outfit might not feel terribly balanced but other than that it shouldn't be a problem.

a big reel on a short spinning rod will certainly make it unbalanced, just see for yourself stick a baitrunner on and ask yourself ''does it feel right'' you will also probably start to get fatigue after using it for a period of time.
now if you were to pair the new spinning rod with a 2500 shimano or equivalent, it would be much more balanced plus you won't get fatigue etc.

depends on the size of the baitrunner, a bblc may be a bit of overkill where a 5010 sort of size will be ok depending on the rods rating
