adie ive always struggled on my canal but am thinking of giving it a go next time iam out maybe tmoz.any tips pal ..its only 3 feet deep but i know they are in there

3ft deep wow that's shallow for a canal

Can you use livebait ? I find its the best way on shallow canals and stealth as they will see you or hear you a mile off
Float ledger as well if livebaits not allowed just keep it as simple as you can and don't stay too long in one spot
Also worth trying a small bait suspended under a float mid depth or even a foot deep and keep twitching it now and then

I'm alright trying to give you tips
You are doing much better than I am so far this season

just seen your 2 very big pike 36lb and 41lb is that your best pike to date pal they look huge

fished that water year before last we had a load of trout but no pike , do you still fish it eric

Thanks lads. I have fished the water for years and never done anything bigger than mid double. Last week I fished it twice and had a 15,8 19.12 the 2 twentys and a few jacks. Just proves you should never right a water off. Can not wait to get back to it lol. Its looking hard now with gales and snow everywhere

three fish for me this moring , nothing big two on dead baits and one while drop shotting for perch

we was out Friday, conditions looked perfect but I didn't get a sniff, typical lol.
my mate managed to get one out at 5lb.
well done to everyone that has been out recently and caught, some nice fish been on here in last few weeks.

If that's where I think it is, I was the first person ever to catch a pike from there, must be getting on for twenty years ago now. It's had some lean years pike-wise, nice to see they're making a comeback.

Had this one the other day, on a sandeel fished very close in. I always catch close in on this water, just past the marginal weed around fifteen to twenty feet out, always makes me laugh when I see people belting their baits out as far as they can.

you're right about them casting to the horizon had loads of them from the margins as that's where the bait fish often hang out
