Canals and lakes are still frozen here as of today that is
Think rivers are only option and they are up and full of muck & salt But we can but try

Re: Anybody Catching
Yes Adie that is what I was driving at.
Besides, you don't have to name the spot for a water to get overrun by all manner of idiots, hellbent on ruining the fishing for everyone, not just one person.
We know from experience that it only takes one decent fish to get caught and for the venue to be named, for bivvies to line the banks.
Even if a spot was named, you can only get a couple of anglers on it. Where do the rest of the wannabes go? They spread out, taking up swims all over the place and before you know it, you can't get a swim yourself, there's rubbish and gut-hooked fish everywhere.
That's why the No Venue Policy was implemented in the first place. It was never a No Spot Policy.

Re: Anybody Catching
Yes Andy i see your point but rivers cover such a vast area unlike ponds and lakes were the fish are captive and i for one wont post on a open forum if i catch on such places and would ask others not to do so on this site But i can't see a problem with rivers as long as you don't say what area you are fishing i.e which village town or city
Re: Anybody Catching
May as well not bother then, if it's river...?
Seen these things end in tears umpteen times and you have too.

Re: Anybody Catching
Only times i've seen problems with naming is when members on other sites have given away the areas were they have caught fish Not when a river is mentioned without saying which areas !!
Andy if you read the no naming policy it doesn't say anything about not naming rivers unless its specific areas

Well a big fat blank on my local res today,
There was a chop on the water and it was overcast,
Thought i might be in with a chance, But sadly no, thats fishing,
I will try again soon before the weather turns again...

Ah well as long as the one specific area you fish doesn't get trashed, that's alright. The rest of the river can be used as landfill for all the difference it makes.

That is a beauty TT!
Nice work mate, lovely fish.
I managed a 1 eyed 3 or 4lber this afternoon. Still happy but would have preferred a whacker like that

Re: Anybody Catching
Good fishing guys, I am wondering when I will grace the bank again, not been out for over 2 weeks and the weather is not looking good for the weekend, and most of the rivers are in flood, but maybe a drain on Sunday, heres hoping
