Just wondering if anybody is out piking as it seems to be quiet on the pike catching front. On Sunday I will get the deadbaits out for the first time this season so fingers crossed I have something to report.

i would imagine people are catching but more relunctant to say , which is no surprise .

i,ve been doing ok on the pike and zander front

but six fish on a new lure is a bit of a result

ive been out the last couple of days had 9 runs landing 6 of them, 5 of them were doubles with the biggest being 18.8 mate of mine has had 2 with the biggest being 25lb all taken on deads anyways im off now to fish for a couple of hours Very Happy

alrite mate me and a pal have been out most weekends and have been doing well always catching decent crocs.my mate smashed his pb last week 25 pounder off the bridgewater canal

hard day today trolled about 15 miles of canals and rivers for 7 pike water looked mint but they was not on the feed better than a blank though Very Happy

had about 4 hours fishing today managed 1 on herring, 13lb 6oz. in 2 years up at my local never had a touch on herring until this week my last 3 fish have been on herring

cheers i must admit most of the time when im on the canal and i catch pike of that size i unhook them and drop them straight back with out really appreciating them there all mint like that Very Happy

i went eel fishing on sunday............ no runs for 4 hours, then i caught sight of a small jack attacking a shoul of roach on the surface.......... not to look a gift horse and all that, on went a dead bait, instant success with a 5 lber, later followed by one of 4lb.......... funny thing is i was told no pike where in there

the times ive heard that mate theres no pike in here mate they say as your reeling in a savaged roach...... Very Happy

been out since 10-10-10 at my private venue and havent failed NOT to catch....

had 7 out and 1 perch sunday gone to 17.6 and the week before 10 out to 17.13 all on spinner and live baits.

nothing is happening on the deads at present.

I know exactly what you mean, We had five rods out yesterday and a guy up the bank had a 3Lb Jack on a live roach,

5 rods? ive out done a guy with 6 rods to my 3 a few years back......

he had 1 pike to low singles and i had around 7/8 fish to 18lb and was fishing 200yrds away roughly.

personally if piking deads/lives and your on your own, i wouldnt advise more than 3 rods, knowing my luck, ill be playing 1 and the others will go Razz Razz Razz (not happened yet lol)
