Re: Anybody Catching
why were you waiting 5 seconds? Have you by any chance read some old articles about waiting for the pilot float to go under before you strike lol.
Try striking earlier.

Another blank today (not even a run). Conditions were perfect S/W wind overcast with a bit of chop on, only thing I can think is the reservoirs just thawed and the colder water going through the water columns put them off.

Fabulous weather yesterday for a bit of slow float trolling, 8 takes 7 landed to 16lb 4oz. No photos sorry as self takes are too hard in the small boat.
Re: Anybody Catching
Had one fish yesterday, 12-13lb or so. Nothing at all today.

Landed an incredible 17 fish today and this beauty to cap it off at 24lb 5oz. If every day was as good as today it wouldnt be special. You need days like this to forget about the blanks
Re: Anybody Catching

been out myself today, first time in a while, managed two small ones largest being 8lb 8oz,

i wish!!!
You lads have some truly wonderful sessions capped off with some fantastic fish. My meagre return from approximately 15 sessions is 3 fish banked, biggest 10lb 2oz, and two fish that spat the hooks, I feel I must be doing something wrong! Keep the pics coming they are fantastic to see,

Hi Leon
you and me both fella. In the real world anglers like us put in many many bank hours for little return. I don't have a bait boat, I don't have a private venue crammed full of Pike and I haven't got a 200 horsepower dingy with echo sounder to get me on the fish lol.

Re: Anybody Catching
All these pike being caught is making me jealous! I am determined to get my target fish though, (14lb), only thing is, I feel like I am running out of time, I have been after a pike over 14 for three years now, fishing beginning of November til beginning of March, but as I catch very few pike, (average about six all winter), I feel I may have to wait a while yet. What are peoples opinions on fishing for them earlier/later than the traditional pike fishing season?
