Re: Customised Fox indicators
carp bobbins are fine if you can live with the resistance from the weight of the bobbin with a drop back arm that works you fish open bail arm so all the fish feels is the clip letting go then nothing i know on some of my waters my catch rate went up a lot when i moved over to this style of fishing

Re: Customised Fox indicators
i do fish with an open bail arm. i have a john Robert's run clip taped to my rod above the real. the line pulls out very easy, and i can adjust it to allow for different types of venues. also i adjust the swinger to as light as i can get away with, this way resistance is kept to very little. the line being pulled through the water (by a taking fish) is by far the biggest factor in the resistance stakes.

do it!!! i modded mine and havent looked back, they work superbly now and release the line with minimum pull from a taking pike

this is how the originals should be set up im sorry cannt show a pic of the actual line gate as the 1 i have is out of focus but there is a mk and mk 3 version available now
when i first used the oringinals i was fishing a local still water with braid taken out with a bait boat to approx 120 yds and they was showing dropbacks from zander at that distance with no trouble

No I'm presently not a user but didn't know there were any other options about when I first got into Pike fishing.
Some use Carp gear but I wanted to use drop off indicators and Fox and Solar were the only ones about, so I automatically thought Fox would be the best?
After using them I had problems with the 'gates' opening when I had very light takes so I customised the ones I had. (see 1st post)
Mine work a treat now!

Re: Customised Fox indicators
I was going to get me a Fox drop off indicator but 2 things put me off:
The apparent reluctance to work properly.
And the price difference between the Fox catalogue and the price in shops.
Fox catalogue £6.99 (for the basic one)
Shop price £9.99 upwards
If the Fox catalogue price is to the dealers then how come it is freely available for anybody to download from their website?
