Anybody Catching

Cracking fish Patch, well done, Nick it sounds like you and Ady had a great day on Friday, we didnt manage day 6 of our fish in, Sithees dog unfortunatly took ill on Thursday night and died on Friday morning, I hope to post my photos later today.

i'm off down my members ponds tomorrow, if they not frozen, heard that only 1 was not.
going to try lamprey, when me and bazz went to the same place lamprey was the bait of the day.

I dont live near a river i'm more stillwater, but good thinkin batman
wouldnt the river be high and tidal with the thawed out snow though?

you got any drains near you? the ones around me are fishing really well at the mo.

The Trent is high & very brown, carrying a lot of Debris...you know, twigs, branches, dead cats & dogs etc.. at the moment, total waste of time. The river Maun isn't too far away from you but its more a stream than a river & will be high, at a guess. Dunno about old Esox but there are rumoured to be some good Chub in it

I've been catching Jack Pike pretty consistently but still not caught a double yet!
Its been hard going this season.

i'm in same boat, never ever caught a double, but i want to before end of season.

dont trust myself incase i get gassed up pike at my feet, although places like a weirpool or well oxygenated area are good.

to be fair alex iv only ever seen one gassed up pike during summer

and that was on its way out anyway scares and chunks missing from its fins

it took about half hour holding it in the margins to stop it bellying up

never had a problem with them gassing up myself

Well generaly I stop Pike fishing at the end of April and move over to coarse fishing. I like my Tench and even some BIG slimy Bream!

But I suppose a bit of lure fishing wouldn't go a miss

yes very true

but all the other pike we cought that summer day were fine and went back with no problems

just the one fish seemed to have problem
