Forget digitals mate. You need to be careful to check the batteries, make sure they're well charged or the scales can read wrong, they're prone to damage, damp and you can't just take them to the council to get recalibrated. I know of 2 brand new sets that were way out. I just don't trust them. I like linear, metal, no computers.

If it's just for pike only, a set of Salter Super Samson springs are quite good for the cash. I've got a set and they've been checked against another 4 sets and they all match. You can't recalibrate them either but for 20 quid, you can't moan. You can get them checked certainly but altered...no.

If you have the cash, get a good set of dials mate and you should have them for life. Avons, Salter, Rueben Heaton, Waymaster are all good. It just depends on the increments you wish to weigh to.
