off to Ireland for 9 days Piking.

Count down is on, I will be on the mighty Shannon, from Friday afternoon for nine whole days, Adie has very kindly volunteered to be my daily reporter, I have no access to a computer whilst I am away, Its an annual trip and sometimes the fishing is slow, but hey, just looking forward to being out there, there is always the chance that we may blank but then again the Shannon is a mighty river with the chance of hooking into a monster fish See you all when I get back

Well it was not the best of trips for catching big fish, but I did manage 11 fish, the weather was very warm and at times blowing a gale, both of whiich did not help, but it was good to get out on the Shannon and the huge loughs It is the first time I have fished big waters such as Lough Derg, and big respect for those that fish these waters succesfully, I float trolled for the first time, and when that float goes under and the bait runner screams off, well its such an exciting way to fish. we were up at 6.00 every morning and on the river by seven, fishing untill 6.00 ish most nights, we had the four seasons of the year, sometimes within an hour, and the fish that I did manage to tempt fought much bigger than their weight, every one of them tail walked and jumped clear of the water, it was a great week
and now back to reality, maybe I might get out for an hour or two today Thanks Ady for posting my updates and I will post some photographs tomorrow, with a bit of luck
