Re: Going fishing?????
sorry about the job front rob not nice been made redundant. sometimes it forces you to seek out new opertunitys.
I was forced into packing in a good job years ago and go self employed not a bed of roses but the rewards and failures are all yours and no one tells you what to do and best of all if it's a bit quiet you can always go FISHING?
good luck ?

I'm hoping to get out his weekend with the lures. Just patrol one of the local canals and see what happens.

Might take the pike rods along and lob some deadbait out (sardines from the Chinese supermarket) popped up and see if I can get a run .
Not holding breath though.
Got the feeder rods ready instead for some Roach & Perch. That way I might actually get a bite...lol.
Well caught hee haw on my short session although the local buckfast crew were pulling them in left, right and centre.
Think I need to change tactics and get really blootered.
That should increase my catch rate...pink fish before my eyes :-).
Hopefully the weather lets up for a while this weekend and I can go lob a deadbait out for a few hours.

Keep at it mate you will get there
I had a few hours this morning throwing a few lures about on venue xx where Kell & i had a few out last week but it was still 3/4 covered in ice and the bit that was ice free was only about 18in deep so blanked this time lol But i think it will be clear by the morning so might try again tomorrow

Re: Going fishing?????
Off out tomorrow for the first full day session in a while. Going with a carping friend who has been showing an interest in getting to know more about this piking lark.
I hope i do a good enough job of teaching him so that he becomes a convert lol.
Going to hit my local drain in the morning and hopefully get him a fish as its fishing really well right now, but if that fails then after the fish and chip lunch we have planned we'll probably head over to my favorite still water for the afternoon and try our luck there.
I will report back with any catch reports

Off up to a club lake in the morning after work its a lake not known for pike but will give it a go....you never know. Monday might see me down the flood bank if the river behaves and stays within its banks then Wednesday i plan to visit another club lake that does hold a few nice pike...might even get to use that new Korum landing net with a bit of luck lol
